The Chinese Super League (CSL) has announced that Augusto, the Brazilian striker who spent time with the Shanghai Shenhua last season, is expected to play for the club's reserve team this month.
Augusto made his debut for Shanghai Shenhua in the 2019/2020 season and scored four goals in 15 games. He also played for China U-23 national team in the AFC U-23 Championship.
In addition to playing for the CSL reserve team, Augusto will also be involved in training sessions with the first team as part of the club's efforts to improve their overall performance.
"The CSL reserves have always been one of the most important teams in our club's development," said CSL head coach Guan Fengjie. "We hope that Augusto can bring his experience and skills to help us improve our performance."
According to the CSL website, Augusto's contract with Shanghai Shenhua expires at the end of the current season, but he is expected to sign a new deal with the club.
"Augusto is a very talented player, and we're excited to have him on board," said CSL general manager Chen Weiqiang. "He brings a lot of value to our team, both on and off the field."
Overall, Augusto's arrival in the CSL reserves could be a significant boost for the club's chances of success in the upcoming season. With his experience and skills, he could help the team improve its overall performance and compete more effectively against other clubs in the league.
